These terms govern your use of Howie. By creating an account or joining the waitlist, you agree to them. Please read them — they are written to be understood, not to obscure.
Howie is available to individuals who are 18 years or older, are residents of India, and are genuinely seeking a long-term committed relationship or marriage. By creating an account, you confirm that this describes you.
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. Your profile must represent you accurately — your real name, genuine photos, and honest information. You may not create an account on behalf of someone else or operate multiple accounts.
Howie provides a platform for trusted social introductions. We do not guarantee that you will find a life partner, that any introduction will lead to a relationship, or that any other user is who they claim to be. We facilitate connections — we do not endorse any individual.
You agree to use Howie in good faith and in accordance with our Community Guidelines. You will not harass, mislead, or intimidate other users. You will not use Howie for any commercial purpose, to solicit services, or to collect information about other users outside the platform.
When you make an introduction between two people, you take on responsibility for that introduction. You should only introduce people you genuinely believe would be compatible. Introducing people for reasons other than genuine belief in their compatibility — including for financial gain or social obligation — is a violation of these terms.
You retain ownership of content you post on Howie, including photos and messages. By posting content, you grant Howie a limited licence to display it to other users as part of the platform. You may not post content that is false, sexually explicit, violent, or that infringes on another person's intellectual property or privacy.
We reserve the right to suspend or permanently remove any account that violates these terms or our Community Guidelines, at our discretion. Where possible we will notify you of the reason. Decisions on removal for severe violations — harassment, fraud, impersonation — are final.
Howie is provided as-is. We are not liable for the actions of other users, for the outcome of any introduction, or for any loss or damage arising from your use of the platform. You use Howie at your own risk.
We may update these terms as Howie evolves. We will notify you of material changes via the app or email before they take effect. Continued use of Howie after notification constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from your use of Howie shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Mumbai, Maharashtra.
